A day in the life: Peanuts' beach trip

One of the things I love about living in NC is that you can decide to go to the beach at three o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and have plenty of time to enjoy it! That's what we did last Saturday. And we took peanut because we knew she'd enjoy it with us.

She loves car rides. Usually she just lays down, but when we slow down or come to a stop, she likes to get up and look around. She must have known we were getting close to our destination because she sneakily hopped into Brad's lap to get a better view.

First of Brad's face, then the road.

It was fun to see how she reacted to the whole experience. She'd never been to the beach before. She was hesitant of everything at first...the water, the debris...

She was not however, hesitant of people or other dogs. She wanted to greet everyone.

It was difficult to catch her frolic with a still camera. But it was funny. After we walked down the beach a ways we decided to continue driving and then stopped for some food. Peanut was too distracted to eat, so she had to eat in the jeep away from everything. And then we drove home. You know it's a good experience when you see this:

Complete exhaustion. A happy dog is a tired dog.
