How NOT to paint bookshelves

1. Decide spontaneously to paint large wooden built-in bookshelves on a Friday afternoon, but don't get started until Saturday morning.
2. Spend most of the morning prepping and getting supplies.
3. Begin painting after lunch on the day that you have dinner guests.
4. Use small foam rollers that require twice the amount of work and time to cover wooden shelves.
5. Skip Church the next day in order to finish.
6. Spend the ENTIRE next day sanding, priming, and painting.
7. Discover the convenience of a regular roller once the main bookshelves are done, but use it on the doors and shelves.
8. Make multiple trips to Lowe's to get hinges and door pulls because you forgot to make sure the hinges were the right size.

I guess that's why they call it "sweat equity".
